I recently found out about Tatiana and Krista Hogan, who share the rare distinction of being craniopagus twins. The girls also have a remarkable ability: because their brains, both fully formed, are connected by a neural bridge, each twin can see through the other’s eyes at will, feel a touch to the other’s body, and possibly, even share thoughts.
I also found out that they’re living in a small, cramped household with over a dozen extended family members and several pets, and that they have a gofundme page which, since its creation over a year ago, has raised only a tiny fraction (less than $6,000 as of Dec. 3, 2013) of its ultimate goal of $500,000, which would buy the girls and their family a larger, better-equipped house.
These girls, though remarkably healthy for the condition they live with, are going to have a unique set of challenges throughout life. As someone who also lives with conditions that can make everyday tasks more difficult, I thought it only appropriate that I share the link to their gofundme page, in hopes that they can, at the very least, live in a home which is equipped to make their lives easier.
A signal boost helps just as much as a donation.
